An MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller pulls noticeably more usable power from your panels than a basic PWM regulator — especially in heat, haze and partial shade — then applies multi-stage adaptive charging to protect and extend battery life. Sizing is simple: match the controller's charge-current rating to your total solar array. As a rough 12V guide, the 100/20 suits arrays to ~295W, the 100/30 to ~440W, and the 100/50 to ~700W.
