The bolt that locks straight into the back of your awning - no T-nut, no fishing, no drama. The Rainger SPECIAL M8 Hex Screw Kit runs an oversize 13.8mm head that seats into the 13.8mm / 14mm rear mounting slot found on the back of most 270 and 180 degree awnings across the industry - including every Rainger Duo awning - plus M8 channel slider systems.
Standard M8 hex heads can pull through or spin in these slots. The oversize head is the fix: drop it in the channel and it holds square while you tighten. Each bolt comes complete with a 316 stainless nyloc nut and a stainless mudguard washer - the large washer spreads the load properly over brackets and thin sheet, and the nyloc will not vibrate loose on corrugations.
Why the odd 13.8mm head?
No bolt shop in Australia stocks this - every off-the-shelf M8 hex is a 13.0mm head, and in a 14mm awning track that is a full millimetre of slop: the head spins when you torque it and works loose on corrugations. These are purpose-made track fasteners. The 13.8mm head fills the 14mm channel with just enough clearance to slide, locks square like a T-bolt, and tightens with one spanner. That is the whole trick - and why we import them specially.
