The REDARC KIT19 is a short, heavy cable made for one job: getting from your battery positive terminal to the fuse holder without losing voltage.
In REDARC's words, it is a cable capable of distributing 50 Amps to a battery positive terminal from a battery charger, providing protection of the wiring and minimising voltage drop.
Why this cable and not any offcut
REDARC's wiring diagrams require the fuse to be mounted within 150mm of the battery positive terminal. That short run carries full charge current, so it needs correct cross-section and proper lugs at both ends. KIT19 is made to that length with the terminations already on it, which is why the BCDC Alpha install manual names it by part number rather than describing a cable to make up.

What does the KIT19 do?

Why does the fuse have to be so close to the battery?
REDARC require the fuse to be mounted within 150mm of the battery positive terminal. The fuse protects the cable, so any length of cable between the battery and the fuse is unprotected. KIT19 is made to that length.
Do I need a fuse kit as well?
Yes. This is the cable only, and your charger does not ship with fuses either. Which kit you need depends on your model, and on the BCDC Alpha range it also depends on whether the charger is mounted in the cabin or the engine bay.
