Built to do more than just
look good parked.

A real sleep system —
not just a mattress.
The Revo-X uses the same mattress philosophy developed over seven years and thousands of swags. 100mm of dual-density foam with an eggshell top profile that distributes body pressure, improves airflow across the sleeping surface, and reduces the harsh feel of sleeping above an aluminium shell floor.
A roof top tent mattress has a different job to a swag mattress — it sits over a solid aluminium shell that can hold cold or radiate heat. The foam has to support comfort and act as an insulation layer between your body and the shell.
- 100mm dual-density foam with eggshell comfort layer
- 1270 × 1970mm sleeping surface
- 15mm anti-condensation mat underneath — breaks the moisture cycle
- Bedding stores inside when closed — doona, pillows, sheets pack in with the tent
Water sheets off.
The seal stays dry.
Corners are where seals fail. Ours are die-cast aluminium.
Sealing a straight run is easy. The corner is where most hardshells quietly give up — and it's the first place water finds its way in.

Along the sides it's simple: a continuous extrusion and an unbroken seal channel. The corner is the hard part — and most hardshells hand it to a moulded plastic cap that goes brittle, loses clamping pressure, and lets water track in where you won't see it until the bedding's wet.
The Revo-X doesn't cut that corner. We join the bottom-shell extrusions with a die-cast aluminium corner that carries the raised seal edge unbroken around the bend, then guard it behind the top-shell lip — the same hidden seal system that runs the entire perimeter. One continuous sealing surface, corner included.
Six numbers that
separate a Revo-X from everything else.
Headline specs are the easy part — what matters is how they work together once the canvas is open.
SGS tested. Independently verified.
We publish numbers competitors won't. 320GSM ripstop, PU 10,000mm hydrostatic head, UV+50 rated, every seam sealed. Internal walls are PU-backed and vacuum heat-sealed — not just coated on the outside face. The fabric is certified free of harmful phthalates.

Five openings.
True crossflow in a compact hardshell.
Ventilation is the biggest difference between a tent that's easy to live in and one that becomes damp and stuffy after a few nights. Most hardshells give you three openings. The Revo-X gives you five — and the rear canvas door zips from the bottom up.

We do not claim the Revo-X eliminates condensation. No tent can. Condensation is physics. What the Revo-X does is reduce it substantially through five independent openings, two included magnetic USB fans, a 15mm anti-condensation mat, and PU-backed wipeable internal walls. Any moisture that does form is easier to control, dry and clean.
Mesh that stops a nick becoming a hole.
Standard flyscreen tears once and ladders into a hole. We went looking for mesh that won't — and built it into every door and window.

Every opening runs anti-cut Nylon 66 multifilament mesh in a leno-lock weave. Each yarn is a bundle of fine filaments, so it flexes with the zip instead of snapping — and at every intersection the weave twists and locks. A nick stops dead at the next twist instead of laddering across the panel. It's ripstop logic, applied to mesh.
We've tested it hard. No flyscreen is genuinely knife-proof — but this is about as close as mesh gets, and it flat-out refuses to let a small snag turn into a 2am mosquito problem.
Solar that lives on the tent —
not bolted on after.
A full-black 72-cell monocrystalline PERC half-cell panel on a dedicated slimline rack with airflow underneath. Wired in from the factory. Plug-and-play Anderson connections. No loose cables, no aftermarket guesswork.

The panel uses a half-cell configuration that reduces hot-spotting and improves output under partial shading — the kind of light you actually get parked under trees or shade-cloth at a free camp.
It sits on a dedicated slimline rack with a natural air gap underneath. Cooler cells mean more stable real-world output, and if the panel ever needs servicing it unbolts cleanly without turning the tent lid into the problem.
The 295W output is unregulated. You'll need an MPPT/PWM regulator or DCDC/BCDC charger with solar input. We stock the Victron 100/20 Smart Solar as a purpose-matched option. Talk to us before you order if you're unsure.
Semi-flexible stick-on
Bonded to the tent lid with no air gap. Holds heat. Reduces real-world output. Messy and expensive to replace once adhered.
Integrated into the lid
Solar built into the structural shell. Looks clean in a brochure. Locks you out of upgrades and turns repairs into shell-level surgery.
Glass-framed on a slimline rack
Conventional glass-framed module on a dedicated rack with airflow underneath. Cooler cells, better output, serviceable. Unbolts cleanly. Future-proof.
Wired for how you
actually camp.
The 12V hub is mirrored at both head ends — not buried at the foot end. Each side gives you a 12V cigarette socket, USB-A, USB-C QC, and a voltage display, plus three dimmable LED strips overhead. Dual Anderson plugs sit plug-and-play ready — grey for 12V in, red for solar out — with a dedicated heat-proof diesel heater port built in.
- Hub mirrored each side: cig socket + USB-A + USB-C QC + voltage display
- 3× dimmable LED strips overhead
- Grey Anderson (12V in) · Red Anderson (solar out)
- Dedicated heat-proof diesel heater port + AC hose compatible

X-Frame + Rear Fold —
genuine room to live.
Most hardshell roof top tents open on a single hinge. The X-Frame uses a crossed-strut elevation system that lifts the shell higher at both the head and foot ends, creating real internal volume where campers actually feel it — sitting up, turning over, getting changed, spending more than one night under canvas.
The Rear Fold adds more than extra room. On many hardshells the head-end canvas folds inward and rain runs toward the sleeping end. The Revo-X changes that path — the rearward extension stops that panel acting like a moisture channel above your pillows, and creates a protected top roof vent that stays covered from rain.
- +30% more usable internal room from X-Frame elevation
- +20% more space from the Rear Fold layout
- Genuine headroom and foot-end room for extended trips
- Protected top roof vent under the integrated awning fly

The Revo-X was not bought off a catalogue and rebadged. The mattress philosophy comes from seven years and thousands of swags. The canvas spec was driven by Australian touring failures we'd already seen. The solar layout was decided by which panels actually hold up on Australian roof racks — not which were cheapest to import.
After the sale, you reach the same people. Not a call centre. Not a chatbot. The people answering your questions are the same people who worked through the mattress, canvas, solar rack and fitment logic behind this tent.
Direct-to-tent awning brackets.
Freestanding, no poles. Built to fit.
The Revo-X is the centre of a system, not a one-off. A Rainger 270° awning mounts straight to the tent body on our direct-to-tent brackets — and runs fully freestanding off them, no poles. 3 T-slot channels, up to 7 bolts per bracket. Fit the tent to your vehicle and the rest is there, ready.
Rainger 270° awnings —
mounted straight to the tent.
Direct-to-Tent Awning Brackets
Purpose-built brackets that mount our Rainger 270° awnings directly to the Revo-X body. No spacers, no compromise on ventilation — cleaner profile, lower stack height, faster setup.
Shop 270° Awnings →Freestanding Off the Brackets
Mounted on the brackets, the 270° awning is fully freestanding — no poles, no legs. The bracketry carries the load, so it deploys faster and the rig stays clean.

Questions worth answering honestly.
Does the Revo-X get condensation?
Every hardshell roof top tent does — it's physics, not a design fault. The real question is whether you wake up in a damp tent, and the Revo-X is engineered so you don't: five openings for genuine crossflow, two magnetic USB fans moving air overnight, and a 15mm anti-condensation mat plus a 100mm dual-density mattress that keeps you up off the cold alloy floor — a warmer sleeper puts less moisture into the air than one pressed against a cold base. PU-backed walls wipe dry instead of soaking moisture in, so anything that does form takes seconds to wipe down, not a morning spent drying out a tent.
How much does it weigh fully installed?
Approximately 120.7kg all-in — that includes the tent (98kg), the 295W solar panel, slimline rack, and internal wiring (22.7kg). We publish the total installed weight because many competitors only quote the shell weight without the components buyers usually add later.
Do I need a solar regulator?
Yes — the 295W panel output is unregulated. You will need either a standalone MPPT/PWM solar regulator or a DCDC/BCDC charger with solar input. Many popular units from Redarc, Projecta, Enerdrive, Victron and Renogy will suit. Contact us before ordering and we'll help confirm compatibility with your setup.
What vehicles does it fit?
The Revo-X mounts to touring vehicles, alloy ute canopies and load bar setups, camper trailers, and jet ski or motorbike trailers. Rhino Rack, ARB, and Front Runner systems may require additional mounting hardware. Contact us before you order and we'll confirm compatibility with your specific setup before anything ships.
Can I store bedding inside when it's closed?
Yes. The Revo-X stores your doona, light pillows, and sheets inside the shell between trips. One strap pulls the tent down and four laser-cut latches lock it shut, so pack-up stays quick.
What's the difference between the 1.45 and 1.3?
The 1.45 is 150mm wider across every external dimension. The core design is identical: X-Frame elevation, Rear Fold, integrated solar, ventilation system and mattress philosophy. The 1.45 suits couples on extended trips and families wanting genuine room to move; the 1.3 suits buyers wanting a tighter footprint without giving away the core spec.
Can I replace the canvas if it gets damaged?
Yes. The canvas body unzips from the top and rotates out via a bottom sail track system. If the canvas is ever damaged or reaches end of life, it can be replaced without buying a whole new tent.
Where can I see one in person before buying?
The Revo-X is available to view set up at Rainger HQ in Baringa, Sunshine Coast QLD (open Mon–Fri, 9am–4pm), at Roam Offroad in Gawler, Adelaide SA, and at Norweld in Newcastle, NSW. We also attend camping and 4WD shows through the year — contact us to find out where we'll be next.
